Another study found that omega-3s can help treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders. The omega-3’s anti-inflammatory properties can also help combat IBS symptoms.

Antioxidants help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals (unstable molecules that harm healthy cells) and oxidation (the process whereby your body creates free radicals).
